The claims process Make a home insurance claim

It's important you make your claim as soon as possible after the incident has occurred or been discovered.

Step 1: If you’re claiming for something that has been stolen, you should always report the incident to the police before doing anything else.

Step 2: Ideally have your Insurance Policy reference number ready, don't worry if you can't find it though. It just makes the process a little quicker!

Step 3: Call the Royal Bank of Scotland Insurance Team, we're here to help! We will register your claim straight away and answer any queries you may have and take you through the whole process. We have a 24 hour emergency helpline available to our customers.

Existing claims Track an existing claim

To find out the progress of your existing insurance claim, just call our Insurance Team.

To make the process quicker, you will have a claim reference number when you first made the claim. You should have this or your policy number to hand to help us locate your insurance claim in the process as quickly as possible.
