What's included in my Royal Bank mobile phone insurance?

You could protect your smartphone against damage, loss, breakdown or theft if you're a Silver, Platinum or Black account customer. We understand your smartphone is a big part of your life, that's why Royal Bank mobile phone insurance will:

  • Cover repairs or replacement parts for damage or if something goes wrong (once your manufacturer’s or any other relevant warranty has expired)
  • Provide you with a replacement phone if yours is lost or stolen, so you’re not out of pocket.

Things to remember

  • There's an excess for each approved claim when your phone is replaced or repaired.

Not all devices are included – the policy covers phones that;

  • have a screen size of less than 7 inches (measured diagonally);
  • are the manufacturer’s standard design and specification;
  • cannot be used as a satellite phone; and
  • not have been manufactured wholly or partly from precious or semi precious metals, stones or crystals.

How to make a mobile phone insurance claim

Making a mobile phone insurance claim with Royal Bank is simple. We know it can be stressful when something happens to your phone, so we want to make the process as easy as possible. Simply:

  • Log in to register a claim online, or call us to speak to an agent. We’ll run through a few details and ask you some questions.
  • Contact us to report the incident. Claims should be reported as soon as possible when theft, loss, damage or breakdown is discovered.
  • Let your network provider know about the situation, and report the incident to the police if relevant. They’ll give you a crime reference number if your phone has been stolen.
  • Arrange for collection of your device if it needs to be repaired. Remember, you have to be in the UK for us to collect your phone.

We’ll work to get your phone repaired or arrange for a replacement as soon as possible.

To apply for a Reward Black you must be an existing Royal Bank current account customer and meet one of the following criteria: have a minimum £100k sole income or £120k joint income paid into your Royal Bank account, or £500k minimum mortgage borrowing with us, or minimum £100k savings or investments held with us. £31 monthly fee. Black can't be applied for.

Switch to Royal Bank

The Current Account Switch Service will do all the work when it comes to switching, moving everything across from your old account all within 7 working days, including Direct Debits and standing orders. All you need to do is tell us the details of your old bank account and when you want the Switch to start.

We can not switch savings accounts or ISAs through this service. Any other products you have with your old bank will not be moved at the same time.
