(a) Prize draw open to The Royal Bank of Scotland Personal and Business customers aged 18 or over who are resident in Great Britain. Draw not open to employees of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group of companies, their families or anyone associated with this draw.

(b) To be automatically entered into the prize draw, entrants are required to order travel money during the qualifying period, either by phone, internet or through our branches, using a debit, credit card or The Royal Bank of Scotland current account.  Pre Packaged Currency is excluded from the prize draw. A purchase is deemed to have taken place where the customer order has been accepted by The Royal Bank of Scotland and confirmed through delivery or confirmation of a relevant order number and / or e-mail confirmation.

(c) Entries not submitted in accordance with these rules will be disqualified. No responsibility is accepted for entries lost or delayed.

(d) One winner will be selected at random per month for July, August and September 2018 and the qualifying period is up to 2pm on the last working day of each month. The value of the winners qualifying transaction up to a maximum of £1000 will deposited into their bank account if applicable.  If the winner purchased their travel money using a debit or credit card they will be contacted by email before the funds are transferred. There is no cash alternative and the prize is non-transferable.

(e) The draw will be made on the 15th day of the following month (August, September and October). The prize winner will be notified by email. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that the contact details provided are accurate and will remain accurate for the duration of the prize draw.

(f) If a prize is unclaimed after reasonable efforts have been made to contact the winner the promoter will be entitled to dispose of the prize as it sees fit without any liability to the winner for having done so.

(g) The promoter reserves the right to alter, amend or foreclose the promotion without prior notice.

Things to remember when ordering travel money

Don't leave your travel money till you get to the airport, all our currencies are commission free with no hidden charges and you can can order in advance - another thing you can get ticked off your holiday checklist.

Delivery times

  You can order up to 10 days in advance and choose a delivery date to suit you.

 

-  Orders placed before 2pm can be collected or delivered after 1pm the next working day*
-  Orders placed after 2pm can be collected or delivered after 1pm in 2 working days

 

There are geographical restrictions in certain regions of Scotland (Fife and Angus,Perthshire, Argyll, Aberdeenshire*, Moray & Speyside, Highlands and Islands and the Channel Islands) which may mean some orders take an additional working day for delivery.

 

*Note - some branches in Aberdeen city centre have next day delivery.  Check with your branch if you need more information.

Charges

  • All our currencies are commission free
  • Home delivery orders for less than £500 will incur a delivery fee of £5, branch delivery is free for all orders
  • An emergency next day delivery service is available from 3pm-3.30pm in branch, but this will incur an additional fee of £5
  • Orders will be available for collection in branch from 1pm the next working day
  • There is no delivery to branches on Saturdays or Sundays, therefore, for collection from branches open on Saturdays, orders must be placed on Thursday by 2pm)

How much to order

We have a minimum order value of £100 and maximum of £2,500 per transaction. In addition there is a £5,000 order limit in a 60 day period.

It's a good idea to put together a rough holiday budget so you can work out how much cash you'll need to order and make sure you're not carrying around more cash than you need. Think about the cost of your holiday including:
 

  • Destination
  • Holiday length
  • Food and drink
  • Day trips
  • Essentials and souvenirs

Don't forget to check how much cash you can take in and out of the country you're travelling to, in case you need to declare it at customs. If you’re travelling between the UK and a non-EU country, for example, cash and travellers cheques of €10,000 or more need to be declared to help avoid fines.

Sell back your leftovers

When you return from your trip, we will gladly buy back your leftover foreign currency notes and Travellers Cheques, provided the notes are in an acceptable condition.  Remember, we don't buy back coins or certain denominations of bank notes and will only purchase currency that we deal in at that time.
