What's new in Digital Banking

Digital Banking is available to those aged 11 and over with an eligible Royal Bank of Scotland account.

Latest improvements

Manage your marketing preferences online

You can now manage your marketing preferences at any time making it much easier for you to opt in or out of our personalised offers, allowing you to tailor what you'd like to see.

Improved timeout alert using mouse movement

We've improved the timeout alert by using mouse movement on the screen to enhance the accuracy of the timeout which allows you to stay logged in for longer.

An updated timeout pop-up will slide up from the bottom of the screen after 8 minutes of inactivity. It will start a countdown from 2 minutes. 

After 2 minutes of no activity you will be logged out or if you close the message it will slide back down and you will remain logged in.

Bulk payments for business accounts

If you’re a business account customer, making multiple payments via Digital Banking just got easier. You can now make up to 15 payments in one go to existing payees. This will make sending payroll and supplier payments quicker and easier than ever before.

Recent Payments

Need to check on the status of a payment?  Well now you can - the new recent payments option allows you to follow up on the domestic payments you've made over the last 3 business days.

The following details will be displayed:

- the account used for the payment
- the payee name
- payee reference
- amount
- payment status

The payment status will be displayed as Paid, Pending or Failed.

Credit card improvements

We've made some great improvements, helping you to better manage your credit card.  Now you can:

- View your pending transactions
- See a more accurate balance when you log on
- Track your spending easily, with additional payment details
- Switch to paperless statements

Forgotten your login details? No problem!

If you have forgotten your Digital Banking details, it's now easier to get back up and running. We’ve made it easier and simpler to reset your login details by reducing the number of steps and adding improved help and support to guide you through the process.

Your statement is available

You can now view, download or print your latest statement in Digital Banking as soon as it’s available. So why wait for your statement to be delivered by post, make the switch to online statements and access to your statements as soon at they are issued.

Create, save or print a copy of your transactions

You can now create a custom-made PDF of your account transactions with Digital Banking, making it quick and easy to keep track of what you’re spending and with whom.


Create a PDF list of your transactions from your account history by searching between dates of your choice, or by filtering by specific transaction types or company name.

Search your Mailbox

You can now search for documents in your Digital Banking Mailbox. Lookout for more mail coming to your Mailbox in the near future.

We’re giving Digital Banking a fresh new look.

We recently updated the login screen and we’re now introducing this new look to our improved Transaction Search function. 

This refreshed look will gradually be rolled out across Digital Banking making the service even easier to use.

We have made it easier than ever to find a past transaction.

We have simplified the Transaction Search tool, making it easier for you to search up to 7 years of transaction history as and when you need to.

Forgotten your customer number? Log in using your debit or credit card.

If you have forgotten your customer number and need help to login to your Digital Banking, you can now log in using the long number on your debit or credit card.

At the login page you can now choose to your debit or credit card or continue to log in using your customer number.

Want to set up a payment for a future date? 

We have made it easier to set up future dated payments.

We have added a 'Select a date' option to make it easier to set up future dated payments.

If you set up a payment to leave your account on a bank holiday or weekend you will receive a prompt letting you know that this payment will be taken the next working day.

More letters are now available, stored within Digital Banking.

Access your banking letters within Digital Banking.

Your Digital Banking Mailbox allows you to receive important mail related to your accounts electronically. 

We’re continuing to make even more of your bank account letters available to access online. You can now receive selected account opening letters to your Mailbox, so if you’re opening a new savings account, current account or personal loan you’ll see your new account documents in your Mailbox.

  • We’ll automatically send letters that appear in your Mailbox by post, but you can choose to go paperless and just receive the online version, so why not make the switch to paperless mail today?
  • If you switch to paperless mail, we will send you an alert to let you know when you have new letters in your Mailbox, you can choose to receive a text alert, email or both.
  • Letters will remain in your Mailbox for up to 2 years.
  • You can download and print letters in your Mailbox at any time.

Once you’ve read your mail, you can use the Archive button to move it into the Archive folder to help keep your Mailbox tidy.

Making bill payments

We have made it quicker and easier to make a new payment through Digital Banking.

  • When creating a new payment using Digital Banking, we’ll now tell you if we recognise the account details you’ve entered and give you the option of selecting the company you’re paying from our list of common payees. 
  • This improvement will help to give you added confidence when setting up a new payment.
  • You can also choose to continue to enter the details manually if you prefer.

Change a payment reference

Change a payment reference when you pay a business or individual

  • We’ve made it simpler to change the payment reference when sending a payment.
  • You now have the option to change the current reference for a payee within the same screen.
  • If you run a business it is now easier to change the reference when paying various invoices or individuals.
  • This option will quickly help you to better manage and keep track of your outgoing payments.
