Our app is built around your banking needs, so when it comes to checking your balance in the morning or needing to pay money back for last night's dinner, our app is there for you.

Make payments

When it comes to sending money to others or paying off a bill, our app is designed to make it as quick and secure as possible.

Read below about the 4 ways you can use our app to send money to others.

How do you want to send the money?

What you'll need:

    Open your mobile app

  2. 02

    Tap on the account you wish to make a payment from

  3. 03

    Select 'Payments' from the list

  4. 04

    Select 'Make a payment'

  5. 05

    Tap on: 'Select payee'

  6. 06

    Choose a payee from the list

  7. 07

    The reference will be the same as you have used previously and if you want to change this a limit of £750 will apply

  8. 08

    Check and confirm the payment details. If these are correct then confirm the payment by selecting 'Make Payment'.

What you'll need:

 

Your mobile app

The name, account number and branch sort code of the person you're paying

Your step-by-step guide:

    Choose your account, tap on 'Payments' and then 'Make a payment'

  2. 02

    On the next screen, choose 'Select payee'

  3. 03

    Then tap 'Pay someone new' at the top of the screen

  4. 04

    Enter the payee name and account details

  5. 05

    Type your reference and enter the payment amount.

    You can choose to pay this person immediately or schedule it for a date anytime within the next 4 months

  6. 06

    Review the payment instruction before confirming and select 'Save payee details' if you would like to pay this person again.

What you'll need:

The mobile number of the person you are sending money to

    Open your mobile app

  2. 02

    Choose the account you want to make a payment from

  3. 03

    Select 'Payments'

  4. 04

    Select 'Pay your contacts'

  5. 05

    Choose a number from your contacts or enter a mobile number in the field provided. This person must be registered for Paym and have a UK current account to be able to receive this payment

  6. 06

    Enter a reference so the person knows who it's from and the amount you wish to pay before tapping continue

  7. 07

    That's the payment sent. If the person you sent the money to doesn't have Paym you will be informed and the payment will not go through.

You may need the name, sort code, account number and your customer reference nunber for the company you wish to pay

    Open your mobile app

  2. 02

    Tap on 'Payments' below the account you wish to pay from

  3. 03

    Select "Make a payment"

  4. 04

    If you have paid this company before and saved their details, then search for their name on your payee list and move to step 6.

    If you haven't paid this company before tap "Pay someone new" and move to step 5

  5. 05

    Start typing the name of the company you wish to pay and choose the correct one from the list of options

  6. 06

    Enter your reference and the amount you wish to pay. You may be presented with a hint to what the reference should look like

  7. 07

    Confirm the payment to be sent immediately or schedule it for any date within the next 4 months.

Transferring money between accounts

Whether you are standing in the queue while doing your weekly shop or planning to save for that next trip away - our app is the easiest way to move money between your accounts while out and about.

The app is designed to make moving your own money as quick as possible. To make a transfer simply open your app and tap on 'Transfer' underneath your account to get started.

Manage your regular payments

Direct Debits and standing orders may sound time consuming and tricky to manage, but our app makes understanding and staying in control of them as easy as possible.

Let us know your Travel Plans

If you are going abroad this summer and plan on using your debit or credit card, let us know first and reduce the chance of your card being blocked by our fraud teams.

To register your travel plans with us open your app, tap on the account linked to the card you intend on using and choose 'Manage my card' to find Travel Plans.

Get started with our app

Downloading our app is easy and secure.

 

What you'll need:

Your mobile phone

Your Digital Banking Customer Number, PIN and Password

Your step-by-step guide:

  1. 01

    Go to your app store and search for Royal Bank of Scotland. Download and open the app when you have found it.

    Our app is available for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.

  2. 02

    Follow the on screen instructions and confirm your mobile number with the activation code we send you.

  3. 03

    You'll be asked to create a passcode. This passcode has to be at least five digits long. It's what you'll use to log in to the app after you've registered.

    Whilst you should make the passcode memorable to you, you can later turn on fingerprint or facial recognition login, so you won't need to keep entering it.

  4. 04

    You'll be asked to enter your Customer Number, which you use to login to Digital Banking.

    If you haven't yet got one simply tap 'What's my Customer Number?' and complete the registration form for Digital Banking, which you need to have to use our app.

  5. 05

    Confirm your Digital Banking PIN and Password. Your PIN will be 4 numbers and your Password will be made up of both letters and numbers.

    Once you have entered these then you are finished registering and good to go!
