How to register for and use our telephone banking service

Register using our mobile app

You can now sign up for Digital Banking, telephone banking and our mobile banking app, all in one go!

1. Download our mobile banking app

2. Follow the on-screen instructions

3. When asked for your Customer Number, tap 'What's my Customer Number?'

4. You can then register for all three services at once!

Using our automated telephone service

You can carry out a range of transactions on the phone once registered.

You can carry out a range of transactions on the phone. When you call us on:

you will hear an automated menu and can make choices based on what you want to do

 

Press 1 for self service automated balances, transactions, payments and general banking queries. Then:

  •     Press 1 for balance and account transactions, then follow the prompts to hear your balance/available funds,     hear recent transactions and search for a transaction
  •     Press 2 for transfers and payments, then follow the prompts to transfer money between your Royal Bank of Scotland accounts, pay a Royal Bank credit card, pay a bill or individual
  •     Press 3 to order a statement or a cheque or paying-in book but following the prompts
  •     Press 4 for assistance from a UK-based customer adviser

Get Emergency cash

If your debit card is lost or stolen, you can still access your cash through our Telephone service.

  • Follow the options to speak to a customer adviser
  • The adviser will cancel your card, and then ask you some security questions
  • If you are registered for Digital Banking or Telephone banking, the adviser will authorise you to withdraw £20 - £300, and £60 if not
  • The adviser will give you a six digit code that you can enter at any NatWest, RBS or Tesco ATMs to use within 3 hours
