Interest free overdraft

An interest-free overdraft there when you need it

Our Student Account and the Arranged Overdraft are easy to understand so you don't have to worry.

You can apply for an Arranged Overdraft of up to £1,000 by the end of your 1st year, if eligible. You can then apply for an increase each year you're at university. If you are studying for a 5 year degree, you can apply for up to £2,000, in your 5th year.

Before you apply for our Student Account, learn what an Arranged Overdraft is, understand how much you can apply for and make sure you're clear on how our Student Account Arranged Overdraft works.

What is an Arranged Overdraft?

RBS Student Account

What is an Arranged Overdraft?

An arranged overdraft is a limit agreed between yourself and RBS that you can spend up to. This is on top of the money you have paid in to your account.

So for instance, if you paid £100 in to a brand new account and then had an arranged overdraft of £150, the total you could spend up to is £250.

How does it work in my 1st year?
