Pay your credit card

Charges

Understand fees and charges

A credit card has many benefits - but to get the most from it, you need to be organised with your monthly payments otherwise you could end up paying fees and charges.

There are two main fees to learn about:

  • Late payment fee - this will only be charged if you're late paying your monthly bill
  • Over limit fee - this will only be charged if you go over your credit limit in any statement period

Both of these fees cost £12.

Life can be busy - it can be easy to miss your payment due date. If you miss this by one day, we won't charge you £12. Similarily, you can go over your credit limit by up to £12, and we won't charge you an over limit fee.

Things to help

Keeping on top of payments can be difficult, that's why there are a few things that can help you to keep on track.

Alerts and reminders

Payment due reminder

Set up a payment reminder via Credit Card Online Services, and we'll send you a monthly text alert and/or an email. This will give you plenty of time to make a payment to your credit card, helping you to avoid any late payment fees.

Credit limit alert

You can also set up a payment reminder via Credit Card Online Services. We'll then send you a text and/or email alert, to let you know when you're nearing your credit limit. This will help you stay under your credit limit and avoid an over limit fee.
