Mobile branches for rural communities

If you live or visit a rural community, our mobile branch bank could be the answer you’re looking for.

Customers visiting the mobile branch bank will be able to carry out a range of personal banking transactions onboard, including:

  • Cashing cheques
  • Making account deposits
  • Paying bills
  • Accessing forms to open accounts

The RBS Mobile Branch Banking service operates 5 days a week, all year round except for Christmas day / Bank Holidays and can accept deposits, cash withdrawals, bill payments, and has an on-board customer phone facilities for contacting central areas to enquire about loans, credit cards, mortgages, insurance, etc.

  • Get a balance using your debit card and PIN. 
  • Withdraw cash using your debit card and PIN. 
  • Pay in cash with a pre-printed paying-in slip. 
  • Make cheques deposits with a pre-printed paying-in slip.

Video banking

Our video banking service allows customers to meet with a video banking adviser without having to visit a branch.

Video banking is currently available to Royal Bank of Scotland personal customers.  Customers who prefer a face-to-face appointment can arrange one – by video – at a time and location convenient to them. 

We connect with the customer using a live video link, either at their home, or in branch. The video banking advisor can conduct a Financial Health Check or discuss a personal loan, credit card or overdraft, as well as opening a current or savings account.  All they need is a device with a camera such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop PC with webcam.

This service is available to customers from 9am - 8pm Monday to Friday and on a Saturday from 9am - 3pm. Appointments can be booked through any branch, over the phone on 0345 90 00 400 or via webchat.


Please note that the Video Banking is not currently available to Royal Bank of Scotland customers in England and Wales
