Worldwide Travel Insurance

Worldwide travel insurance that covers you and your family for trips up to 90 days including 31 days for winter sports. The policy also includes £10 million medical expenses cover.

What you need to know

  • Cover for you, your partner and dependent children who are under 18 (or under 23 if in full time education) at the start of the journey. Children must be living at the home address (or with the other parent), and be neither married or in a Civil Partnership
  • Your partner is the person you, the account holder, live with at the same home address in a relationship, whether married or cohabiting
  • You can also purchase additional cover such as Business, Golf, Weddings & Hazardous Activities
  • To find out if you can extend your travel insurance to include cover for any new or existing medical conditions please visit our travel insurance website or call 0345 266 8801 (or Minicom 0370 600 0856). You may have to pay extra for this or you may find that your condition cannot be covered. Lines are open: 8am-8pm Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm Saturday, 10am-5pm Sunday and 9am-5pm on bank holidays. We are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and Easter Sunday. Calls may be recorded.
  • If anyone covered by this policy is aged 70 or over, you must call us each year in order to obtain cover. You will need to pay an annual premium of £75 per person insured aged 70 or over and be medically screened.
  • If you have an existing medical condition, you may have to pay an additional premium or accept that your cover may exclude certain conditions.

Worldwide Airport Lounge Access

Your account comes with DragonPass Premier membership which gives you unlimited access to over 1,000 airport lounges around the world including more than 40 in the UK.


There’s also the ability to pre-book your place in selected lounges for just £5 per person. As well as lounge access, DragonPass Premier provides more choice when it comes to your airport experience:


  • Receive discounts at 1,000+ airport cafés and restaurants, a handy alternative where no lounge access is available;
  • Exclusive discounts at airport spas to truly relax and unwind before your flight.


What you should know

  • We’ll automatically send you a DragonPass Premier membership card  in the post when you open or upgrade to a Reward Black Account. The card will take around a week to arrive.
  • Make sure you download the DragonPass Premier app before you travel to check lounge listings, opening and closing times and any restrictions that may be in place. The DragonPass Premier app also gives you information on restaurant and spa offers as well as the ability to pre-book  certain lounges.
  • Guests travelling with you, who don’t have a Reward Black account, can use the lounge for a payment of £20 per person.
  • Remember to take your DragonPass Premier membership card with you when you travel. If you have a joint account and are travelling with the other account holders, you will both need to have your membership cards (either the plastic card or digital version available through the app)  and present them upon arrival at a lounge.


Airport lounges are owned and operated independently of DragonPass. Admission is granted subject to capacity and at the discretion of the lounges.

Mobile Phone Insurance

Your policy covers loss, theft, damage and breakdown (once your warranty has expired).

What’s included?

  • You’re automatically covered but we recommend that you register your handset to make the claims process quicker
  • Worldwide cover for your mobile phone against loss, theft, damage or breakdown. Please note if you’re outside of the UK we won’t replace your device until you return
  • 4 successful claims during any 12 month period
  • Unauthorised calls following loss or theft for up to £2,500 (inc VAT) for monthly contracts and £100 (inc VAT) for pay as you go customers
  • Accessories covered up to £250

What you need to know

  • Devices with a screen size more than 7 inches are not covered
  • Covers the phone used on a daily basis by you, your partner and/or your children under 18 years old who live at home with you (under 23 years old if they are still in full time education and living at home with you outside term time). There is no cover for phones owned by your employer.
  • There is a £100 excess for each successful claim.
  • Our replacement phones are refurbished handsets in ‘as new’ condition using genuine manufacturer parts.

How do I make a claim?

Claims should be reported as soon as possible when theft, loss, damage or breakdown is discovered.
If your phone has been lost or stolen, you must contact your network provider within 24 hours (48 hours if you’re outside the UK)

If your phone is stolen, you should inform the police and get a crime reference number as soon as reasonably possible

UK and European car breakdown cover

Green Flag provide UK & European Car Breakdown cover which includes returning you and your vehicle to your home address in the UK and options to get you to your destination if your vehicle can’t be fixed.

What's included?

  • UK and European roadside assistance 
  • Homecall cover and recovery service to a destination of your choice if your car can't be fixed

What you should know

  • Cover is for all vehicles owned by you and registered at your home address. You are also covered in any privately registered vehicle you travel in, anywhere in the UK.
  • Outside of the UK, European cover only applies for vehicles less than 16 years old at the start of the trip
  • Maximum of 5 call outs in any 12 months
  • Doesn’t cover any repair costs once the insured vehicle has been transported to a garage or repairer
  • If a repair cannot be completed by the end of the working day we will arrange for transportation, a hire car or local overnight accommodation – conditions apply

Home emergency service

Rest assured knowing you have 24/7 cover up to £750 (inc. VAT) for home emergency call-out and repair.  

What's included?

  • 24/7 cover up to £750 (inc. VAT) for home emergency call-out and repair
  • Local tradesman fix plumbing problems, gas or electricity failure, water failure, and broken or damaged windows


What you should know:

  • Excludes boilers over 10 years old, or with an output over 75kw
  • No cover for homes unoccupied for more than 60 consecutive days
  • This is not a home insurance policy, nor a maintenance contract
  • You don't need to pay the tradesman as we will instruct the repairers
  • Cover for the account holders main and second home in the UK (excluding properties you rent out). Exclusions apply

Black Ticket Service

Book through us to receive 25% cash back on tickets for theatre, dance, opera, concert performances and more throughout the UK and Ireland

What you should know:

  • Order up to six tickets through the booking service for each event, and book up to four events per year
  • Tickets can be booked online via the membership services website, or over the phone
  • Cash back is calculated on the full price of the ticket including any booking fees, and will be paid into your account within 30 days
  • You can’t re-sell your tickets and must also be attending the event

Important information about your account.

Account eligibility

Available to Premier banking customers who are aged 18 or over, a permanent UK resident and not been declared bankrupt in the last 6 years, with a sole income of at least £100,000 or a joint income of £120,000 paid in to this account, or a Royal Bank mortgage of at least £500,000, or £100,000 in Royal Bank savings and investments.


To keep earning Rewards on your household bills, you must log into online or mobile banking at least once every three months.

Rewards explained

What are Rewards?

They're simple

You automatically earn Rewards on seven types of household bills paid by Direct Debit and on purchases at partner retailers. 5.00 in Rewards = £5.00.


They could grow quickly

There's no limit to the Rewards you can earn. Average earning of £83 in Rewards a year is based on paying bills of £345 a month and is before the Reward monthly account fee is paid.


They're easy to exchange

As soon as your available Rewards balance is the equivalent of £5 or more, you can convert your Rewards to money, which you can either transfer into your Royal Bank of Scotland current account or use towards reducing your Reward credit card balance.


Rewards can also be exchanged for gift cards or codes at selected retailers or converted to money and donated to participating charities.

How do I earn Rewards?

2% back in Rewards on seven household bills

You will earn Rewards on the following bills when you pay by Direct Debit from your Reward bank account; Council Tax, mobile, landline, TV package, gas, electricity and broadband.


Payments to billing organisations but which are for other services such as maintenance, repairs or insurance will not earn Rewards. 


At least 1% back in Rewards at partner retailers

After you've opened your account, you'll receive personalised retailer offers where you can earn extra Rewards when you use your Royal Bank of Scotland debit card. To view your personalised offers, exchange any Rewards and to check your Rewards balance, you will need to register on the MyRewards site.

How do I exchange Rewards?

As soon as your available Rewards balance is the equivalent of £5 or more, you can login to MyRewards to exchange them. To login you will need to register, using your debit card. You can then choose from the following.


Bank it

Convert your Rewards into money. You can then transfer the money into your Royal Bank of Scotland bank account or use towards reducing your Reward credit card balance. The funds will be cleared in your chosen account within 5 working days.


Trade up

Exchange your Rewards for gift cards or codes at our selected partner retailers.



Convert your Rewards into money, which can be donated to one of our chosen charities.
